Every year around the world, more than 1 million babies die from prematurity. More than 3 million others are stillborn.

Global Alliance to
Prevent Prematurity and Stillbirth

Prematurity and stillbirth are ignored global health problems that remain mysteries. GAPPS, an initiative of Seattle Children’s, works to stop these increasing problems to improve maternal, newborn and child health outcomes globally.

GAPPS collaborates with the best minds in science, public health and policy to achieve three key goals:

  • Catalyze research
  • Accelerate the delivery of health interventions
  • Set the stage for policy action among U.S. and global stakeholders

For Researchers

GAPPS is catalyzing research to understand causes and find solutions.

WHO's Art for Health

GAPPS is working with the World Health Organization to bring fine art to Seattle.
