Join Our Alliance
“The strongest impact that you can get from implementing evidence-based practices is from partnerships, particularly partnerships between scientists in the developed and the developing world where you bring some of the best science that’s out there to where the problems are.”

We invite you to join our coalition of global leaders to raise awareness and understanding of the magnitude of the problems of preterm birth and stillbirth; close the knowledge gaps; and identify and promote evidence-based solutions that will help us achieve our vision of eliminating prematurity and stillbirth worldwide.
Promoting the Global Action Agenda
We are collaborating to achieve milestones outlined in the Global Action Agenda (GAA), published in BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth in February 2010. The GAA was developed at the 2009 International Conference on Prematurity and Stillbirth. The primary goals of the Global Action Agenda are to find creative solutions and promote initiatives that will improve maternal, newborn and child health. The GAA includes six key initiatives:
- Understand the magnitude and impact of preterm birth and stillbirth
- Build research capacity in low- and middle-income countries
- Catalyze diagnostic, treatment, and prevention innovations through discovery science
- Develop and deliver cost-effective, and low-tech interventions
- Increase visibility and awareness of preterm birth and stillbirth
- Unlock the resources necessary to reduce preterm birth and stillbirth
Membership Criteria
Organizations and individuals must share the GAPPS vision, goals and objectives. Members must also be committed to promoting the Global Action Agenda as it relates to prematurity and stillbirth and, more broadly, maternal, newborn and child health.
No Fees or Dues
There are no fees or annual dues associated with joining GAPPS. Standard memberships are in perpetuity unless otherwise requested.
